Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 10, 2026
The short version: we collect only what we need to run the game, save your progress, run fair leaderboards and handle purchases. We do not sell your personal information, we do not show third-party ads, and you can delete your account at any time from inside the app.
This policy explains how Loft Golf ("Loft Golf", "we", "us") handles information when you use the Loft Golf mobile game, the browser demo and loftgolfgame.com (together, the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. What we collect
Information you give us
- Display name you choose for leaderboards and tournaments.
- Messages you send us, such as support requests, player reports or sponsor inquiries, including the email address you send them from.
Information created when you play
- Player account: when you first play online, the app creates an anonymous player ID and a random sign-in key for your device. We do not ask for your name, email address or phone number to play.
- Game data: your saved progress, shots and scores, tournament and match results, ratings, the items you own, and your in-game currency balance.
- Purchase records: which products you bought, when, and the store's transaction reference. We never receive your card number or payment details.
- Device information: device type, operating system, app version, and a push notification token if you allow notifications.
- Technical logs: like most online services, our servers and our network provider record IP addresses, request times and error details to keep the Service working and secure.
We do not collect your precise location, contacts, photos or microphone. If you share a shot video, it is created on your device and sent only where you choose through your phone's share sheet.
2. How we use it
- To run the game: save your progress, sync it to your account and restore it.
- To run fair competition: replay and check submitted shots, rank leaderboards, match you with opponents and stop cheating and abuse.
- To deliver what you buy and handle refunds.
- To send notifications you have allowed, such as tournament results or reminders.
- To answer you when you contact us.
- To fix bugs, improve the game and keep the Service secure.
- To meet legal obligations.
We do not use your information for third-party advertising, and we do not build advertising profiles.
3. Who we share it with
We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. We share information only with service providers that help us run Loft Golf, and only for that purpose:
- Apple App Store and Google Play process payments. Their own privacy policies apply to what you give them.
- RevenueCat manages purchases and subscriptions. It receives your anonymous player ID and purchase receipts.
- DigitalOcean hosts our servers and database.
- Cloudflare delivers our website and protects it from attacks.
- Apple Push Notification service and Google Firebase Cloud Messaging deliver notifications if you allow them.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect players or the Service from fraud or harm, or as part of a merger or sale of the business, in which case this policy will continue to apply to your information.
4. What other players can see
Your display name, scores, ratings and tournament results appear on public leaderboards. Your recorded holes may be used as a "ghost" opponent for other players, shown under your display name. Choose a display name that does not reveal personal details.
5. Purchases
Loft Golf is a paid game with optional in-app purchases. Purchases are handled by the App Store or Google Play. We receive confirmation of what you bought so we can add it to your account. Refunds are handled through the store you purchased from. When a store tells us a purchase was refunded, we remove the item it granted.
6. Notifications
We send push notifications only if you allow them. You can turn them off at any time in your device settings or in the game's settings.
7. How long we keep it
- Account and game data: for as long as your account exists.
- When you delete your account, we remove your sign-in key, display name, linked identities, device and notification tokens, saved progress and pending purchase choices. Shots you already played may remain only as anonymous records with no link to you, so that past leaderboards stay correct.
- Purchase records: as long as needed for refunds, accounting and legal requirements.
- Server backups: replaced on a rolling basis, about 30 days.
8. Your choices and rights
- Delete your account at any time from the game's settings. This cannot be undone.
- Access, correct or delete your information, or ask a question about it, by emailing [email protected]. Include your display name so we can find your account.
- Notifications: turn them off in your device settings.
Depending on where you live, for example in the European Union, the United Kingdom or California, you may have further rights: to know what we hold, to get a copy, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict certain uses, and to complain to your data protection authority. We will not treat you differently for using these rights. We process information to provide the Service you asked for (performing our contract with you), for our legitimate interests in keeping the game fair and secure, to meet legal obligations, and with your consent where required, such as for notifications.
9. Children
Loft Golf is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Security
We encrypt traffic with HTTPS, store only a hash of each device's sign-in key, keep server access restricted and back up our database. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and will notify you and the authorities of a breach where the law requires it.
11. Where data is stored
Our servers are in the United States. If you play from elsewhere, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, with safeguards as required by law.
12. Changes and contact
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top and, for important changes, tell you in the game before they take effect.
